Results of RP-Korea job matching out
The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) released Wednesday the list of Filipino workers who have been offered employment contracts under South Koreaâs employment permit system (EPS). According to the POEA, a total of 250 Filipinos were selected under the EPS. For the full list of selected applicants, click here. Selected applicants are required to report to the POEA multi-purpose room, 4th floor, Blas F. Ople Building (formerly POEA Building), Ortigas Avenue corner EDSA, Mandaluyong City at 8 a.m. on September 18 or on September 23 for EPS orientation and pre-documentation briefing. Applicants are expected to bring their original passport. In case a specific applicant cannot come on the said schedule, he or she is advised to call the POEA immediately at 7221175 or 7221177. The employment offer is valid only until September 25, 2009. The EPS is a government-to-government recruitment system implemented by South Korea and the Philippines since 2004. It was created in order to correct the exorbitant mobilization costs charged by recruitment companies and their brokers in South Korea. With the abolition of the trainee scheme in 2007, Korean employers can only get foreign workers through the system, POEA as the only government agency authorized to implement the scheme in the Philippines. - Kimberly Jane Tan, GMANews.TV
