A Philippine cultural show featuring man’s connection with and responsibility to nature had a successful run in Korea last September 30 and October 1. The Department of Foreign Affairs said the Ramon Obusan Folkloric Group and the Sanghiyas Pangkat Mananayaw performed “Bahaghari (Rainbow)" at the National Theater of Korea. It said the Philippine Embassy in Seoul and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Korea hosted the two-night performances. “Bahaghari" was staged in cooperation with the Cultural Center of the Philippines and the National Theater of Korea to mark the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Philippines and Korea and the 2009 World Festival of National Theaters. At least 10 international theater groups participated in the month-long festival. Other theater groups came from Italy, Belgium, Norway, France, Russia, Brazil, Thailand and Taiwan. More than 2,000 guests from the diplomatic corps, Korean government officials, Filipino community members, and the Korean theater-going public attended the show. “Bahaghari" is now considered as one of the most well-attended foreign production in the two-year history of the World Festival of National Theaters in Seoul, the DFA said. - GMANews.TV
