Kalihim ng DOTC, DND, lusot na sa CA

MANILA – Nakalusot na rin sa Commission on Appointments (CA) nitong Miyerkules ang mga itinalagang opisyal ni Pangulong Benigno “Noynoy" Aquino III, sa Department of National Defense (DND) at Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC). Sa rekomendasyon ng mga pinuno ng committee on transportation and communications at committee on national defense, inaprubahan ng CA ang kumpirmasyon nina Sec Ping De Jesus (DOTC) at Sec Voltaire Gazmin (DND). Si De Jesus ay nagsilbing kalihim ng Department of Public Works and Highways sa ilalim ng termino ni dating pangulong Cory Aquino – ina ni PNoy. Samantala, si Gazmin ang naging pinuno ng Presidential Security Group (PSG) sa unang bahagi ng termino ni Cory, na pumanaw noong 2009. Sa kanyang rekomendasyon, sinabi ni CA national defense committee chairman Capiz Rep. Antonio Del Rosario, na nakahanda si Gazmin na harapin ang mga pagsubok sa kanyang departamento at maging sa militar. "I am confident he has what it takes to calm the conflicts within the department and the Armed Forces of the Philippines," pahayag ni Del Rosario. Kumpiyansa naman si CA transportation and communications chairman Palawan Rep. Antonio Alvarez, sa malawak na karanasan ni De Jesus para pamunuan ang DOTC. Kasabay nito, pinagtibay din ng CA ang pagtaas ng ranggo ng anim na senior officer ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) , na si AFP chief of staff Gen. Ricardo David, Lt. Gen Juancho Saban, Lt. Gen. Eduardo Oban Jr., Lt. Gen. Arturo Ortiz, Vice Admiral Mario Catacutan, at Lt. Gen.Gaudencio Pangilinan Jr. Ilan pa sa mga miyembro ng Gabinete ni PNoy na nauna ng nakalusot sa CA ay sina Secs. Rosalinda Baldoz (Labor and Employment), Mario Montejo (Science and Technology), Enrique Ona (Health), Executive Sec. Paquito Ochoa, Rogelio Singson (Environment and Natural Resources), Proceso Alcala (Agriculture), Alberto Lim (Tourism), Jose Rene Almendras (Energy), Gregory Domingo (Trade and Industry), Armin Luistro (Education) at Florencio Abad (Budget and Management). – GMA News
