ILLAM bags four titles in Little League Series

International Little League Association of Manila (ILLAM) captured four out of eight titles in the recently-concluded 2011 Little League Philippine Series in Lipa City. ILLAM won the little league, junior league, and big league baseball and the senior league softball to join Tanauan (senior league baseball), Muntinlupa (little league softball), Bacolod (junior league softball) and Manila (big league softball) in representing the Philippines in the Asia Pacific qualifier for the world tournament in different parts of the United States. ILLAM beat Tanauan, 10-2, in the little league championship and thrashed Marikina, 21-0, for the junior league title. ILLAM took the big league baseball crown, defeating Muntinlupa, 16-3. ILLAM also won over Bacolod, 9-6, to claim the senior league softball title. Tanauan defeated Muntinlupa, 12-2, to annex the senior league baseball title while Muntinlupa swept all its five matches to claim the little league softball crown. Bacolod blasted Smokey Mountain, 9-4, to wrest the junior league softball crown while Manila blanked Smokey Mountain in three games to claim the big league softball title. - RCJ, Reuben Terrado, GMA News
