The Philippine Embassy in Riyadh disclosed to Filipinos in Saudi Arabia and Yemen its schedule for the holy month of Ramadan. In an announcement posted on its website over the weekend, the embassy said the schedule will take effect on the first day of Ramadan, which falls on July 31 or Aug. 1. The embassy said the office hours are from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. from Saturdays to Wednesdays. Consular services for Thursday are suspended, it added. The embassy said regular office hours will resume on Sept. 4, right after the Eid ul-Fitr holidays, which have been shortened to four working days from Aug. 29 to Sept. 3, instead of 10 working days as practiced by the host government. During the non-working hours, Thursdays, Fridays, and Eid ul-Fitr holidays, the embassy said it will assign duty desk officers to attend to urgent needs of Filipinos in Saudi Arabia and Yemen. Duty officers can be reached at telephone numbers (+966 1) 482 3559 and 482 1577. — JE, GMA News
