Mga opisyal dapat matuto ng leksiyon sa WikiLeaks report, ayon kay Joker

MANILA – Sinabi ni Senador Joker Arroyo na dapat matuto ng leksiyon ang mga nakaupo sa gobyerno matapos lumabas ang mga ulat sa kontrobersiyal na “online whistle-blower" na WikiLeaks tungkol sa mga opisyal ng pamahalaan. Sa panayam ng media nitong Huwebes, sinabi ni Arroyo na dapat iwasang makipag-usap ng mga opisyal ng pamahalaan sa mga pinuno ng embahada ng Amerika kung hindi naman opisyal ang kanilang pag-uusapan. "That’s the whole problem with our officials, they are eager to talk with embassy officials, look at what happened. Henceforth, I think Philippine officials should be wary of talking to them," ayon sa senador. Sa nakalipas na mga araw, inilabas ng WikiLeaks ang umano’y mga impormasyon na nakuha ni dating US Ambassador Kristie Kenney tungkol sa mga opisyal ng gobyerno ng Pilipinas. Kabilang sa mga opisyal na nabanggit ay sina Pangulong Benigno “Noynoy" Aquino III, ang kanyang pumanaw na ina na si dating pangulong Cory Aquino, dating pangulong Fidel Ramos, dating pangulong Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo at Sen Manny Villar. Ayon kay Arroyo, karaniwang ginagawa ng mga US embassy officials na alamin ang nasa isip ng mga opisyal ng bansang kinaroroonan nila at saka ipadadala sa kanilang “superiors." "You don’t know who among are really diplomats, some of them are connected with the CIA," pahayag ng senador. "Moral lesson: Don’t accept invitations unless its official. The Philippines is not only country that is the victim of this country but all over the world. But we have given this too much importance because media also keeps on reporting it," dagdag pa niya. Bagaman hindi beripikado ang mga ulat na lumabas sa diplomatic cables, sinabi ni Arroyo na ang impormasyon tungkol sa umano’y pagbibigay ng suporta ng US sa Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) ay pagpapakita kung gaano ka-estratihiko ang interes ng US sa bansa. "They are interested in Mindanao because it is possible that they would want military facilities there. The US Military bases to be based them," aniya. "The release of these Wikileaks should not be taken as it damages us. It gives us a lesson on how the US government thinks, how they can be trusted, how they back bite," patuloy ni Arroyo Una rito, hiniling ni Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago, sa Senado na imbestigahan ang impormasyon na galing sa WikiLeaks kung saan binanggit na tumanggap si dating pangulong Ramos ng $200,000 pinansiyal na suporta kay Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi. Lumabas din sa WikiLeaks ang umano’y tila pagkiling ni Kenney sa kandidatura ni Villar noong 2010 presidential elections kaysa kay Aquino. Samantala, pinuna naman umano ni Kenney si Aquino sa tila kawalan nito ng malinaw na polisiya sa kanyang magiging administrasyon. “Senator Aquino was vague on specific policies he would pursue if he won office. Queried for his views on issues like Mindanao, the economy and foreign policy, Senator Aquino did not provide any clear policy proposals, but stressed the importance of clearing up the legacy of corruption and cronyism of the Arroyo administration," ayon pa sa ulat. - GMA News
