Aces trip slumping Tigers in Philippine Cup

LA Tenorio and Tony Dela Cruz tallied 23 points to lead Alaska to a 121-111 win over Powerade in the main game of the 2011 PBA Philippine Cup on Friday at the Araneta Coliseum.

Aces rookie Marnel Baracael scored a career-best 22 points while Sonny Thoss tallied 18 to provide offensive support.

The Joel Banal-coached Alaska improved to 2-7 to bolster its chances of getting past the elimination round while while the Tigers suffered their fourth straight loss to drop to 3-7.

Powerade has lost seven of its last eight games after a 2-0 start in the season-opening conference.

Top rookie pick Jvee Casio had his best game so far this conference with a career-high 26 points. — JVP, GMA News
