1 of 2 suspected robbers shot dead in Laguna

One of two suspected motorcycle-riding robbers was shot dead in a predawn encounter with police in San Pedro town in Laguna province Thursday.

 

The encounter occurred along P. Ocampo Street at Phase IV of Pacita I in San Vicente village, radio dzBB's Roland Bola reported.

 

Police have launched a manhunt for the remaining suspect who managed to elude arrest during the encounter.

 

Initial investigation showed police received a tip that motorcycle-riding suspects had "harassed" two minors in the area.

 

When the police team encountered the suspects, the suspects allegedly fired at them, forcing them to return fire.

 

One of the suspects was killed on the spot while the other managed to escape. –KG, GMA News
