Nomads Auction Manila FC recorded their first win in division one as they defeated  Pasargad FC 3-2 yesterday at the University of Makati stadium. In a match that was mostly characterized by the difference in height, with the Nomads towering over their Pasargad rivals, things became heated on and off the pitch at times, but the Nomads did enough to pick up the victory. The game got off to a quick start as the Nomads took the lead through Randy Musters at the 12th minute. Pasargad equalized two minutes later through Charlie Sutcliffe, before taking the lead as Jay Torres scored only two minutes later again. The bold start for both sides seemed to have settled down before Nomads then equalized just before half-time, with a corner finding Yves De Luis who headed to bring Nomads level. Many in the crowd were disappointed by some of the Nomads’ fans shouting obscenities with children in attendance. They weren’t disappointed by the football however as shortly after the break a through ball found Phil Connolly free at the back post and he slid in to put the Nomads in the lead once more, this time for good. The best moment of skill in the second half came when Steven Borill burst past two defenders and his powerful effort looked destined for the net before the Pasargad goalkeeper spread himself well to make a magnificent block. The resulting corner found Musters and he headed unchallenged but couldn’t keep the ball under the bar. Shortly afterwards though, Borill was sent off for slapping a Pasargad player in the face, which led to the Nomads ending the game with ten men. Despite being a man down, they still looked comfortable winding down the clock to record their first win in the top flight.  -- AMD/OMG, GMA News
