Hackers hit Universal Music's Portugal site
Hackers struck anew over the weekend, attacking the website of Universal Music in Portugal and dumping the contents of its database online. The Hacker News reported Sunday the hacker leaked the usernames, passwords and email IDs of the site's users into a file on Pastebin.com. "Immediate(ly) after the hack, The Universal Group (has) taken down the site for maintenance," The Hacker News said. As of 5 a.m. Sunday (Manila time), visitors to the hacked site (http://universalmusic.pt/) were greeted with an error message that "the service is not available. Please try again later." It was not immediately clear if the attack was connected to last weekend's hacker attack that knocked out American broadcasting network CBS.com and attacked the website of entertainment firm Universal. Last week, tech site Gizmodo reported the attacks came shortly after hacktivist group Anonymous knocked out several sites in retaliation for the takedown of Megaupload.com. Gizmodo said the hackers also took down UniversalMusic.com again. — LBG, GMA News
