After blast, Makati tightens security, starts taking photos of motorcycles

January 30, 2012 7:56am
One week after a blast damaged some vehicles and a building in Makati City, police have started keeping closer tabs on motorcycles passing through the city's streets.

Makati City police head Superintendent Jaime Santos said they have also added patrols in the business district, radio dzBB reported early Monday.

Santos said they have started taking photos of motorcycles passing through the city's streets, particularly noting their plate numbers.

He also appealed to the public to call the police's hotline at (632) 887-4626 if they notice any suspicious activity.

In the meantime, Santos reassured the business community of heightened security measures in the city.

The report quoted Santos as saying Mayor Jejomar Erwin Binay Jr. had also ordered tighter security measures for the commercial district.

Santos added they have met traders there and briefed them about the security measures. –KG, GMA News
