74th UAAP: La Salle tries to remain undefeated in two events

La Salle tries to keep its respective winning streaks in women's volleyball and men's tennis going while Adamson shoots for an eighth straight victory in softball in Saturday's 74th UAAP action in various venues. The Lady Archers are expected to clinch win No. 12 when they go up against the winless University of the Philippines Lady Maroons at 3:30 p.m. in women's volleyball at the San Juan Arena. Adamson, on the other hand, tries to stay in the hunt for a semifinals seat when it takes on University of the East in the other women's volleyball game at 2 p.m. A win by the Lady Falcons will allow them to join early Final Four qualifiers La Salle and Ateneo (9-2). The men's volleyball matches pit Far Eastern University opposite UP at 9 a.m. while Ateneo battles Adamson at 10:30 a.m. In men's tennis at the Rizal Memorial Tennis Center, La Salle guns for its eighth straight win against UP in the 12 noon tie. Ateneo meets National University while University of Santo Tomas battles UE in the other men's ties at 9 a.m., while the 12 noon women's contest will have UP facing Ateneo. At the Rizal Memorial Baseball Stadium, Adamson University, unblemished in seven games, battles UE at 11:30 a.m. The other games will have UP colliding with La Salle at 7:30 a.m. and Ateneo-UST at 9:30 a.m. — JVP, GMA News
