The Emilio Aguinaldo College Generals bounced back from their first loss, beating the Arellano University Chiefs, to sit atop the standings in the 87th NCAA football tournament at the Philsports Track and Football Field in Pasig City.

Rodante Larios Jr. scored in the 75th minute to lift the Generals past the Chiefs, 1-0.

The Generals now have a total of nine points at 3-1-0, three points ahead of the second placers and defending champion San Beda College Red Lions, which is 2-0-0.
It was Arellano's second setback in four outings.

In the juniors division, season host University of Perpetual Help System DALTA Junior Altas foced a three-way logjam for the lead as they compiled a total of 12 points tying reigning champion Arellano University Braves and last year's runners-up San Beda College Red Cubs.

The Red Cubs sport an immaculate 3-0-0 card, while the Junior Altas—a 23-1 conqueror of the Colegio de San Juan de Letran Squires—improved to 4-1-0, the same record as the Braves.
Edienzel Marl Velizano led Perpetual Help's scoring spree by posting a season record of 15 goals.

Jose Lorenzo Francisco prevented the shutout win for Perpetual after he scored in the 50th minute for Letran. Reigning juniors titlist CSB-La Salle Greenhills Greenies is in solo second with nine points, on a clean 3-0-0 record. — AMD/JVP, GMA News
