Davis Cup: Huey gives PHL 2-0 edge over Pacific Oceania
Filipino-American Treat Huey defeated Pacific Oceania's Michael Leong, 6-0, 6-3, 6-2, to give the Philippines a 2-0 edge in their in their Group II Asia-Oceania first round tie Friday at the University of Saint Anthony in Iriga City, Camarines Sur.
The 26-year-old Huey easily disposed the Solomon Islands native in straight sets right after Jeson Patrombon defeated of Cyril Jacobe, 6-3, 6-2, 7-6 (4), in the opening singles.
The Filipinos are making good use of their homecourt advantage as they play Pacific Oceania at the University of Saint Anthony in Camarines Sur.
Next up this weekend are Johnny Arcilla and Ruben Gonzales against Cyril Jacobe and Daniel Llarenas for the doubles match.
