Microsoft 'shares' Office Suite preview with customers
For the first time, Microsoft is "sharing" with a select group of customers the preview of its next-generation Microsoft Office productivity suite tentatively codenamed "Office 15."
PJ Hough, corporate vice president of development of Microsoft's Office division, said the feedback from the testers will be incorporated into the final release.
"(T)he Technical Preview is the first time we share our work with a select group of customers under non-disclosure agreements. These customers play a key role in our development process by testing early builds and providing feedback, which we incorporate into the final release," Hough said in a blog post.
While declining to give more details about Office 15, Hough said they will simultaneously update cloud services, servers, and mobile and PC clients for Office, Office 365, Exchange, SharePoint, Lync, Project, and Visio.
"Quite simply, Office 15 will help people work, collaborate, and communicate smarter and faster than ever before," Hough said.
Hough also said that while the Technical Preview program is already full, everyone will have the opportunity to try the Office 15 public beta this summer.
By then, he said Microsoft will have more to share about the release.— TJD, GMA News
