Indian manager in UAE faces charges for abduction, rape of Pinay
An Indian manager faced a court in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for allegedly abducting and raping a Filipina who was applying for a job at his company last year, a report of the news site Khaleej Times said.
The manager, however, insisted they had consensual sex and denied raping the Filipina.
He claimed that he found the Filipina's number on the Internet when she applied for a job as a maid.
He alleged that the Filipina agreed to have sex with him for Dh4,000 but was upset when he handed her Dh500 only.
However, the Filipina denied this, saying the Indian contacted him shortly after she posted her resume in November 2011 on a jobs website.
According to the report, the Filipina recounted how the suspect asked to meet her because his company needed to hire staff.
The victim's sister said she dropped off her sister at the Jebel Ali Metro Station, where the Indian picked her up.
The victim said she hesitated when the Indian took her to his flat and not to an office.
However, the Indian reassured her that everything was fine and there was no need to worry.
When the Filipina asked to be brought back to the metro station, the manager allegedly dragged her to a bed, Khaleej Times said.
The victim claimed that she tried to push the Indian away but could not.
The Indian also allegedly threatened her that his friends who lived in the same building would gang-rape her if she fought against him.
After the Indian brought back the Filipina to the metro station, her sister found her crying.
When the sister found out what happened, she and the victim filed a complaint at the Jebel Ali police station, Khaleej Times said. - VVP, GMA News
