Paglikha ng trabaho, ipinanawagan sa harap ng pagdating ng 2012 graduates

Nanawagan ang isang senador kay Pangulong Benigno “Noynoy" Aquino III, na simulan na ang mga proyektong makalilikha ng mga trabaho sa harap ng inaasahang 700,000 graduates na madadagdag sa labor force ngayong taon. Sinabi ni Sen Francis Escudero sa isang pahayag na dapat simulan ng gobyerno na ituon ang atensiyon nito sa pagpapaunlad ng mga programa at proyektong makapagbibigay ng hanap-buhay. Pagtaya ng mambabatas, mayroong pang 564,000 mga naunang nagtapos sa kanilang pag-aaral ang patuloy na naghahanap ng trabaho, batay na rin umano sa datos ng Commission on Higher Education at Department of Labor and Employment. “These figures from CHED and the DOLE confirm the notion that more and more educated Filipinos find it difficult to find local employment. Of course, the conventional recourse is to look for jobs abroad even if the opportunities there are thinning," pahayag ni Escudero. Mas kailangan umano ngayon ang mabilisang pagtugon ng gobyerno sa problema ng kawalan ng trabaho sa harap na rin ng lumiliit na oportunidad sa ibang bansa dahil sa mga kaguluhan gaya ng nagaganap sa Middle East, at nananatiling mahina ang ekonomiya sa United States at Europe. "Add to these is the number of discouraged workers or those who stopped looking for work believing that there is no more available vacancy as well as unpaid family workers, and the number becomes bigger. Government must implement a spending program to stimulate employment in response to this," paliwanag ni Escudero. Dumami ang walang trabaho - SWS Sa pinakabagong survey ng Social Weather Station (SWS), sinabing umangat sa 24 percent, o tinatayang 9.7 milyong Pinoy ang bilang ng mga walang trabaho sa bansa. “The December 2011 Social Weather Survey was conducted from December 3-7, 2011 using face-to-face interviews of 1,200 adults," ayon sa SWS. Ang datos na nakuha noong Disyembre ay mas mataas sa 22.9 percent na unemployment rate na ginawa ng SWS noong June 2011. Lumitaw sa SWS chart, na 33.3 percent ng 9.7 milyon na walang trabaho ay hindi na narenew ng contract o natanggal sa trabaho. Samantala, 37.5 percent naman ang nag-resign o boluntaryong umalis sa kanilang trabaho, 20.9 percent ang hindi naghanap ng trabaho, at 8.3 percent naman ang nawalan ng trabaho matapos magsara ang kanilang pinapasukan. SWS survey, kinontra Kinontra naman ni DOLE Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz ang resulta ng SWS survey na hindi umano tugma sa quarterly Labor Force Survey na ginagawa ng National Statistics Office (NSO). Ang survey umano ng NSO ang opisyal na pinagbabatayan ng pamahalaan, ng World Bank, Asian Development Bank, International Monetary Fund at iba pa. “Historically, the SWS survey results on unemployment are higher than the results of the LFS," ayon kay Baldoz Sinabi naman ni Presidential spokesman Edwin Lacierda na mas malaki ang bilang ng respondents sa NSO survey na umaabot sa 54,000 katao, kumpara sa 1,200 ng SWS. May naghihintay na trabaho sa graduates -- Tesda Tiniyak naman ni Joel Villanueva, director general ng Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), na hindi dapat mangamba ang mga magtatapos ngayong taon dahil may trabahong naghihintay sa kanila. “I believe there are enough jobs out there for everyone, the secret is simply to be able to match the graduates’ proficiency to the jobs available at the market right now," paliwanag ng opisyal. Sinabi ni Villanueva na kabilang sa tinututukan ng pamahalaang Aquino ay ang problema sa tinatawag ng “mismatch" o bakanteng mga trabaho na hindi tugma sa educational qualification ng mga nagtapos. “An important part of TESDA’s bigger goal and higher mission is to support the President’s campaign to straighten the disconnect and create the perfect match of jobs and workforce by encouraging our people, especially the youth, to enroll in TESDA, whether they are college graduates or not, to be able to enhance their skills and abilities to match with what the industries are immediately looking for," ayon sa opisyal. “All they need to do is invest a little more time to allow TESDA to help them make their educational qualifications match with the demands in the open market," dagdag ni Villanueva. - ER/FRJ, GMA News
