KL Amateur Open: Ardina loses duel with hometown bet Pan
Dottie Ardina did manage her last four holes but eventually lost out her duel with Malaysian Arethan Pan in the final round of the Kuala Lumpur Amateur Open at the Kelab Golf Perkhidmatan Awam in Malaysia. Ardina, 18, had a strong front side with birdies on Nos. 3 and 6. She was still 2-up on Aretha in 14 holes but failed to manage her game when it mattered. Overall, Ardina wound up with a 218 after a 72, three back from Aretha's 215 after a 72. It was on the 15th where disaster struck for the top ICTSI golf team bet. She pulled her tee shot left of the pin and then four-putted from there, the ball twice rolling back to her original position, as the pin placement was very hard. On the 16th, the reigning Queen Sirikit Cup champion dropped a shot on a missed 4-foot putt which could have tied her with Pan. With her touch not the same in the early goings, she bogeyed again as against Arethan's birdie to go three down with one hole left. Kelly Tan wound up solo third at 221 after a 75 while Vivienne Chin shot a 73 and finished tied for third with Isza Fariza Ismail, who slumped to a 78, at 223. Reigning Philippine amateur champion Lovelynn Guioguio struggled with a 76 for joint sixth with Nur Durriyah Damian, who had a 78, at 226 while Princess Superal made a 75 for a 226 and Jayvie Agojo wavered with a 78 for a 230. — Adrian Flores/JVP, GMA News
