Australian voluntary group offers free cleft palate surgeries

Helping Children Smile Inc, an Australian voluntary organization, will be offering free reconstructive cleft lip and cleft palate surgery in Malolos, Bulacan from 26 February to 9 March.
 
The free surgery will be performed by a team of qualified plastic surgeons, anaesthetists, and nurses from Australia.   Around 100 indigent children from Bulacan and nearby provinces, including Metro Manila will benefit from the week-long medical mission.
 
Dubbed Operation Balik Ngiti, the annual medical mission has helped restore the smiles of around 800 Filipino children since the first medical mission in 1996.  
 
Potential patients are encouraged to join the mandatory medical screening on Sunday, 26 February at the Romel Cruz Hospital in Matimbo, Malolos,
