PHL Supreme Court website blinks after posting bar results

February 29, 2012 3:18pm
Moments after the Supreme Court announced the successful examinees in the 2011 Bar exams, its website became temporarily inaccessible to virtual visitors.

Visitors to the SC website (sc.judiciary.gov.ph) as of 2:40 p.m. received an error message indicating their requests "timed out" before the page could be retrieved.

"The gateway could not receive a timely response from the website you are trying to access, a DNS server, or another gateway server," read an error message on some browsers.

But it also indicated this may also indicate "the network is congested or that the website is experiencing technical difficulties."

As of 2:53 p.m., the splash screen of the SC website was accessible, but the Bar results page continued to time out.

Earlier Wednesday, the high court readied its website to announce the successful 2011 Bar examinees.

A link had been provided for those who want to proceed to the high court's main website.

The high court was due to post the results of the Bar exams at 2 p.m. Wednesday.

Police tightened security at the high court for the announcement of the Bar exam results.

Earlier, the high court said 1,913 (31.9 percent) passed the 2011 Bar exams held at the University of Santo Tomas last November.

Justice Roberto Abad, chair of the 2011 Bar exam committee, noted 6,200 were admitted to take the exams but only 5,990 examinees showed up.

Court spokesman and administrator Jose Midas Marquez said this year's passing rate is the second highest since 2001 where 32.89 percent passed. — TJD, GMA News
