UP Law represents PHL in International Moot Court Competition
Students from the University of the Philippines (UP) College of Law may have been missing from the list of the 2011 Bar Exam’s top ten passers, but they made waves at the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition when they won the Philippine National Rounds last Feb. 27. The UP squad bested teams from four other leading law schools in the Philippines: Ateneo de Manila University, San Beda College, Siliman University, and the University of Cordillera. The Finals were staged at the Supreme Court, and saw the UP Applicant team going against Ateneo Law School’s Respondent team to win the right to represent the country in the competition’s International Rounds to be held in Washington D.C. this March. The Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition is an annual competition held in Washington D.C. which pits the world’s leading law schools and law students against one another in a mock court setting. — ELR, GMA News
