UAAP: Season 74 president Palou praises student athletes

Former UAAP president Ricky Palou of Ateneo praised all student athletes who competed in the 74th UAAP season for their effort and sacrifice in the country's most prestigious collegiate league. "We salute the student athletes for their effort, even those who did not win medals. And to sum it all up, it was a wonderful and productive season with all of the eight member universities winning at least one championship each,” said  Palou in Friday's closing ceremony at the PICC Forum 1 and 2. National University, the league's long-time whipping squad, is emerging to be a future contender after winning the baseball crown and finishing second in men's tennis and badminton. NU is the general host of Season 75. Incoming league president Nilo Ocampo vowed of another banner year. "Together with the UAAP Board of Trustees, we applaud and congratulate Ateneo for going all out, with all their hearts for their successful hosting of the 74th season." "I look forward to a great year ahead, keeping in mind the upholding of the UAAP's ideals. We will achieve to keep the UAAP spirit alive and strong,” Ocampo added. NU owner and SM Group top brass Hans Sy was also present in the well-attended closing ceremony. — JVP, GMA News
