“Dislike the Philippines” on Wednesday became a trending topic on Twitter PHL, an offshoot of the viral video “20 reasons why I dislike the Philippines.”   The video carries the watermark of channelflix.com — a website for pilots and episodes created by aspiring filmmakers —  where it was originally uploaded.   The introduction to “20 reasons…” reads: If you think really hard, I'm sure you can come up with a couple reasons not to like something. In the land he loves so much, let Jimmy take you on a lighthearted tour of the negative aspects of living in a crowded country located at the earth's equator.   Jimmy Sieczka, supposedly an American living for more than three years in the central Philippine province of Cebu, is the main character and storyteller featured in “20 reasons…”   The video is directed by American Michael Goodman.   Jimmy rants about how annoying and “pissed off” he is with the unsanitary preparation of food, dirty comfort rooms out of toiletries, traffic and vehicles honking horns, beautiful Filipinas being almost all the time a “lady boy,” and “giggling” security guards.   In closing, Jimmy tells prospective tourists that the Philippines is a beautiful country with 7,107 islands, but they must be prepared for the worst.   Meanwhile, there is another video from the same website and director featuring a different American and showcasing “20 reasons why I love the Philippines.”
