3 teams rule 2012 Manila Touch Rugby Tournament

Team Macherr, Team Vipers and Team Rakaramba took home the top prizes in the women's, men's and mixed categories in the recently-concluded 2012 Manila Touch Rugby Tournament. Team Vipers used its speed to beat Team UP, HCF, Acay and Macherr to clinch the men's crown early Sunday morning. Come midday, the mixed tournament saw Team Rakaramba rely on its chemistry to defeat Teams Bullette-Vipers, Macherr, UP and Hapons to claim the title. In the women's category, Team Macherr, University of the Philippines' alumni team, beat the Alabang Angels, Team UP, and Bulettes-B en route to a final match with fellow undfeated squad Bulettes-A. In the championship game, Team Macherr emerged victorious, scoring one try late in the game to secure the title. "Despite the heat, all teams did their best and showed what they've got. Special thanks to the Bullettes for organizing the event," said Touch Football Pilipinas Chief Executive Officer Rey Gigataras.
