Pinoy, 2 others nabbed in Malaysia for drug possession
A Filipino and two others were arrested while some RM1.4 million (P19.6 million) worth of drugs were seized in separate anti-drug operations in Malaysia this week. According to a report of the news site The Star on Thursday, customs officials found drugs in the luggage of a 28-year-old Filipino during a routine inspection Monday at the Bukit Kayu Hitam border. The shabu reportedly weighed 5.65 kilograms and was worth about RM1.4 million. Customs director Datuk Abd Aziz Abdul Latiff said: “We found a package containing syabu (shabu, methamphetamine hydrochloride).” Abd Aziz said the Filipino, who was not named in the report, had taken a bus from Haadyai, Thailand, and was supposed to board a flight back to the Philippines on Thursday.
