Pinay killed while crossing street in Guam
A 47-year-old Filipina doughnut store employee was killed after she was hit by a car while crossing the street in Guam, a report of a Guam-based television station said. Jimena Baguyo was crossing the Harmon Loop Road in Guam last Thursday when she was hit by a Nissan pickup, Kuam News reported. The victim was brought to the Guam Memorial Hospital after the accident but was declared dead at 10:45 p.m. on the same night. The suspect, 22-year-old Michael Meno, reportedly tried to flee after the accident but eventually turned himself over to the police. Kuam News reported Meno as saying that he thought he just hit a discarded tire or rim, and tried to escape because his driver’s license was expired, and he had consumed beer and marijuana before the accident. Meanwhile, the Guam Pacific Daily News reported that the suspect is currently behind bars on a $50,000 bail (roughlyP415,000) and has already been charged with vehicular homicide. In a message to GMA News, Baguyo’s daughter expressed her family’s intention to bring her mother’s body back to the Philippines for a proper burial. — VVP, GMA News
