GMA News Online has an active and often insightful online community of commenters (and debaters). From hereon in this section, we will be highlighting selected comments and exchanges, chosen for generating light. However, GMA News does not necessarily agree with the comments. Our first selection:  From the March 26 article Corona admits daughter bought US property, decries 'black prop'  which has gathered 980+ comments as of today.

From 1longminute (804 comments):

i'm not sure if the whole process of the impeachment trial is bringing out the best or worst from the nation . . . it is certainly harboring much hate in many people - unsure of its direction. whether corona gets convicted or acquitted, what is certain would be the loss in government time (from legislative branch) & money (from taxpayers).

The following is a defense of the President's efforts from user Woo Hoo (1480 comments). The comment appears in the March 22 article Pulse Asia: More Pinoys disapprove of Corona; Binay enjoys popularity

read more news, less propaganda....

Kailapaig (16 comments) contributes to the discussion about bullying in How to overcome bullying in schools, and at home by listing some skills that could help children build confidence.

Bullying I think is a result of a child for lack of having social skills in a social situation especially at home. I have observed kids are less likely bullied when they are:
1. good in physical fighting(martial art skills: boxing, taekwando, wrestling or simple street fighting) later explained as a necessity "only" during childhood to allow them to protect themselves because they learn to avoid fights because of their confidence as they grow older
2. allowed to reason-out at home to anyone by his/her parent or guardian
3. confident academically with his studies in school when parents or relatives teach the child with school lessons
4. able to sing well, acquire a skill in playing any musical intrument
5. able to dance well
6. able to do other tricks to make them popular

These skills allow them to be confident in themselves and almost always ready for being able to adjust during social interaction or confrontation and later on be a difficult target by a bully. Usually bullies end up be-friending the kid with social skills and accepted by the general public or even idolized by the bullies instead...this is just an opinion.

Mark Gabriel Malolos (1 comment) in the 24 oras video story High school student sa Cebu, 'di pinayagang magmartsa sa graduation dahil sa litrato sa Facebook  reacts to St. Theresa's College High School's "punishment" of the high school senior for having a photo of herself in a bikini posted on Facebook.

For you to be able to graduate in high school, it takes 4 years of being highschool, 6 years of being an elementary and 2-3 years of being in pre-school. Yung iba may grade 7 pa. A total of 12-13 years, wasted just because you posted a picture wearing a bikini? Yet our country is becoming more liberated. Face the truth and reality bites. We can say that it is not an excuse for her not to get her diploma just because she posted a picture on facebook wearing 2 piece. There are a lot of punishments, and in my opinion, it is not right for her not to graduate.
