The Boracay Rum Waves hope to keep a good thing going on Tuesday, seeking a second straight victory when they play the winless Cagayan Rising Suns in the 2012 PBA D-League Foundation Cup at the Trinity University of Asia gym. After suffering three straight losses to being the tournament, the Waves finally claimed their first win of the conference by defeating the Junior Powerade Tigers, 64-60, last Thursday at the Ynares Center in Antipolo. “We’re really struggling,” said Lawrence Chongson, head coach of the Waves. “We are taking things each passing moment at a time, no longer every game, half or quarter. We just have to deal with the situation as it arises." Tip-off is scheduled at 12 noon. “Hopefully, our win against Junior Powerade will lead to a mini run so that we can build our confidence. We just have to stay positive and continue to be aggressive,” Chongson added. The Waves relied on the inspired play of Ken Acibar to grab the victory, as he scored 10 of his 17 points in the fourth period while erasing a sizeable third-quarter deficit. The Rising Suns, on the other hand, go for their first victory after their fourth stinging loss of the conference against Cebuana Lhuillier, 82-55, last week. In the second game, Erase Plantcenta tries to break out of its slump when the Erasers go up against Junior Powerade at 2 p.m. The Erasers have lost two straight games and a win will tie them with Junior Powerade in the leaderboard. Both Erase and Boracay currently tout 1-3 records, and forging a tie with the idle 2-3 Big Chill Supercharges is definitely not out of the question. - AMD, GMA News
