The Indonesia Warriors drubbed an incomplete AirAsia Philippine Patriots side, 104-79, Saturday in the 3rd ASEAN Basketball League at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City. The Patriots struggled after playing with only one import after Chris Alexanders' sudden departure, which the Warriors took full advantage of.   It was Indonesia's' first-ever win over a Philippine team in the ABL to improve to 9-9. The Patriots, meanwhile, are now in joint first place with the San Miguel Beermen with a 13-4 win-loss record. The Beermen can occupy the top spot if they beat the Chang Thailand Slammers on Sunday. The 7-foot Alexander left for the United States without the team's permission, leaving Anthony Johnson as the Patriots' lone import. Johnson and the Patriots were helpless as Indonesia reinforcements Evan Brock and Steve Thomas dominated the shaded lane. "I'm proud of our effort," said Warriors coach Todd Purves. "I'm aware that they got one import but the score isn't indicative in any way of how this game was played because we faced a very deep and talented Patriots team." Brock finished with 23 points and 12 rebounds while Filipino-American Stanley Pringle added 22 points, four rebounds and four assists. Allan Salangsang had 13 points and was a dead shot at the three-point line in the fourth stopping the Patriots' run after coming to within three, 69-66. Johnson had 32 points but the Patriots only had one other double digit scorer in Aldrech Ramos, who had 14. Nakiea Miller was re-hired by the team in place of Alexander but was not allowed to play because of a rule that prohibits an import from suiting up for the team with less than three days before the game. — JVP, GMA News
