Talk 'N Text Chot Reyes.
Talk 'N Text mentor Chot Reyes seems to be using reverse psychology to challenge his players as the reigning PBA Commissioner's Cup champion Tropang Texters try to keep their title defense bid alive against the B-MEG Llamados. "In life you got to sense if there's something left. I'm sensing that we have nothing left in our gas tanks," said Reyes after TNT's 82-66 Game Five loss Wednesday night. "Motivation is overrated; at this point players must have self motivation. Players need to decide if they still want to give it a final push. The way we're playing we need to think hard about our desire to win this series," added Reyes. B-MEG holds a 3-2 edge in the best-to-seven title series and Tim Cone, the coach of the Llamados, hopes to end it on Friday night and win his first title with the San Miguel-owned franchise. "The pressure is on us to close it out (on Friday)," said Cone, who expects James Yap and import Denzel Bowles along with the rest of the B-MEG crew to keep playing the same way they did in that huge Game Five win. While Yap and Bowles piled up the points, with the latter scoring 11 of B-MEG's last 16 markers, Yancy De Ocampo, JC Intal and Marc Pingris took care of their defensive assignments. The Llamados held the Texters to a series-low 66 points on 24-of-65 field goal shooting for a 36.9 percent clip. Cone even dubbed De Ocampo, Intal and Pingris as B-MEG's "unsung heroes." Reyes also credited B-MEG's defense. "Good thing we managed to score 66 points. They (Llamados) played tremendous defense, its just our offense is completely off the mark." "Sometimes we win, sometimes no. No matter what we do nothing works that's just the way it is. I just have to prepare these guys, B-MEG is deep they're big, they're well coached. Coach Tim (Cone) kicked my butt (Wednesday)." — JVP, GMA News
