Brian Viloria wants to avenge his 2006 loss to Omar Niño Romero that is why a few days before the fight, the reigning World Boxing Organization (WBO) flyweight champion declared he is ready to slug it out against his Mexican rival. "I'm a lot quicker than him, I just got to show that and my experience–I have a lot of experience in the ring and I'll bring a lot of weapons into the ring," said Viloria in a 24Oras report by Ian Cruz. "And it's up to me, it's really up to me which tactics I may choose and which weapons I am going to use." Viloria, who has already reached the 112-pound weight limit, (30-3 with 17 knockouts) will be making his second defense of the flyweight title belt he won a year ago against Julio Cesar Miranda when he meets Romero on Sunday at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City. "Right now I should be, maybe even less. We still got, four or five more days you know, it's good to be on weight early so I don't have to worry about it and I can re-hydrate myself and feel good." He will be up against, for the third time, Romero, who still needs to lose some weight in order to qualify. Viloria lost to Romero in their first meeting in 2006, while their second encounter resulted into a no contest after the Mexican tested positive for using an illegal substance after the post-fight drug test. Mario Morales, Viloria's Mexican coach is expected to arrive within the week. Filipino assistant coach Allan Rañeses has been monitoring Viloria's progress. Romero, who set up camp at the Discovery Suites gym, said that he, too, was ready for their 12-round showdown. The 35-year-old Mexican challenger only needs to lose four pounds to make weight. "We're both here to win, obviously he wants to win, obviously I want to win so were both here to fight and to win," Romero said. — JVP, GMA News
