Bradley on Pacquiao - 'It's going to feel even better when I beat him'
Timothy Bradley turned down an opportunity to face Amir Khan, but it worked out in the end for him, as he wound up with a match against Manny Pacquiao for the WBO World Welterweight Championship, the fighter told boxing blog Bad Left Hook. "I am thrilled beyond compare that I am challenging Manny Pacquiao," Bradley said. "I was at the right place at the right time. "I am now in a place where I will be able to accomplish another one of my goals in life and that is to fight the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world. This is a huge challenge for me personally and professionally." But though Bradley and Pacquiao have been nothing but pleasant to each other in the press conferences and interviews leading up to the June 9 (June 10, PHL time) bout, Bradley is not about to take his opponent lightly. "It feels great to get the fight with Manny Pacquiao," Bradley said. "It's going to feel even better when I beat him. You can take that to the bank." Bradley had appeared on the undercard of last November's Pacquiao versus Juan Manuel Marquez fight, wherein he defended his WBO Light Welterweight title versus Joel Casamayor through TKO. He had previously been criticized for refusing to fight WBA Light Welterweight champion Amir Khan, who actually trained with Pacquiao in Baguio. "When the Amir Khan world title unification fight was presented I was determined not to be pushed into it," Bradley said, defending his decision. "It was a business decision. And if there's one thing I have learned as a professional boxer it's this, sometimes the deal you don't make is the best deal you make." The Pacquiao-Bradley bout will take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. - AMD, GMA News
