Famous videogame characters star in new Disney animated flick
The recently-released trailer of Wreck-It Ralph, Walt Disney’s latest 3D animated flick, offered a real treat to gamers everywhere as it featured world famous videogame characters as part of its roster.
Wreck-It Ralph is the story of a fictional videogame bad guy of the same name. For over 30 years, he’s played villain to Fix-it Felix, Jr. Tired of his situation, he leaves his game and embarks on a journey through different videogame worlds to prove that he has what it takes to become a hero.
Just a few seconds after introducing the premise, the trailer cuts away to Ralph going to a bad guy support group, comprised of villains who are also dealing with their status as… well… villains. This scene already showed a good number of classic videogame characters such as Dr. Eggman/Robotnik from Sonic the Hedgehog, Kano from Mortal Kombat, King Bowser from Super Mario Bros., Zangief from Street Fighter, and the ghost from Pacman, just to name a few.
The trailer promises more cameos from such characters as Ralph goes through his journey.
The movie features the voice of John C. Reilly (Stepbrothers, Zombieland) as Wreck-It Ralph. Joining him as supporting voice cast are Jack McBrayer (30 Rock, Forgetting Sarah Marshal), Jane Lynch (Glee, Role Models) and Sarah Silverman (The Sarah Silverman Program, Rent).
Wreck-It Ralph is slated for a US release on November 2, 2012. Local release dates have yet to be announced. — TJD, GMA News
