6 tourists visiting Palawan underground river rescued after boat capsizes

At least six Arab tourists visiting the Puerto Princesa Underground River (PPUR) in Palawan were rescued after their boat capsized over the weekend, a radio report said Monday.

 

The six were on their way to the PPUR when their motor banca hit an obstacle, radio dzBB's Palawan affiliate James Viernes reported.

 

Coast Guard Palawan district commander Commodore Enrico Evangelista was quoted in the report as saying Coast Guard personnel from the Sabang station rushed to the area and rescued the six.

 

Initial reports indicated four of the Arab tourists were surnamed Mustafa.

 

The tourists were in good condition after the rescue, the report said. –KG, GMA News
