Former PBA and Asean Basketball League import Jarrid Famous has made it to the training camp roster of the NBA's Memphis Grizzlies. The 24-year-old 6'11" power forward was signed in order to provide some height for the Grizzlies, who have suffered a series of injuries to other rotation big men. 6'9" Darrell Arthur, who missed a significant portion of last season due to a torn ACL, suffered a "non-displaced fracture in the head of the fibula in his left leg." 7'2" Hamed Haddai on the other hand is coming back from right thumb surgery. Famous played three games for the Meralco Bolts in the Commissioner's Cup, averaging 26 points, 15 rebounds, two assists, a steal, and 1.67 blocks. He then played seven games for the San Miguel Beermen in the ABL, norming 12.29 points, 5.14 rebounds and 0.29 assists. The NBA D-League veteran was a part of the Milwaukee Bucks' summer league team back in July. In his first game, he put up 13 points and 11 rebounds, but tallied a total of just six points and four rebounds in his other two outings. Memphis now has 20 players on their roster and must waive at least five before the start of the season. - AMD, GMA News
