Want to send Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg a message, like telling him how Facebook rocks but Timeline sucks? That'll set you back $100, a tech site said Friday.

A report on Mashable said attempts by Facebook users to send a message to Zuckerberg directly will cost them $100 (about P4,061).

"In our tests from multiple accounts, it appeared to be the case that users only get this message if they're not one of Zuck's 16 million followers. That, however, could still be coincidental," it said.

Mashable posted a screenshot of the message that indicated most messages will go to Zuckerberg's "Other" folder, but would go to his Inbox for $100.

Also, it quoted a Facebook spokesperson as saying they are "testing some extreme price points to see what works to filter spam."

But Mashable also said this could be a variant on the $1 pay-to-message plan that Facebook had been experimenting with for months.

Facebook first announced the $1 pay-to-message test in December, and described it as a test.

"The company indicated at the time that it would be experimenting with other prices, so it's possible we're starting to see the fruits of that," it said.

Also, Mashable cited reports in December that Facebook may charge people $100 for such a service, "but this is the first time we've seen it — and certainly the first time we've seen it applied to the founder."

It said the "Other" inbox is Facebook's dumping ground for all messages that it guesses are not urgent. — TJD, GMA News
