Angelo Que’s drive for another breakthrough year started on the right track on Thursday when he finished atop the leader board with the highly-respected Frankie Minoza and rising teener Miguel Tabuena in the first round of the rich P5-million The Country Club Invitational in Canlubang.                  All three wound up with similar two-under-par 68s on the extremely long and windy course of The Country Club.   This is the first tournament for the 2013 season of the ICTSI-Philippine Golf Tour launched on Wednesday by TCC board member Chito Alarilla and PR Narlene Soriano.                  The new season will start at Sherwood Hills on March 18-23 and will again end at Wack Wack on November 19-23.                  Three-time champion Que zoomed to two quick birdies on the first six holes but somehow lost ground on consecutive bogeys on the ninth and tenth holes. Again however, he came through in the clutch by sinking two birdies in the four holes coming home for a 34-34 card.                  “I putted well today but there’s a lot of room for improvement in the coming days,” said Que, who has been training with national coach Bong Lopez in the last couple of weeks.                  Juvic Pagunsan, the defending champion, lurked behind with a one-under-par 69, for a share of third place with Orlan Sumcad and Rufino Bayron.                  In the race for the amateur low honors, ICTSI golf team members dominated the field with Dottie Ardina’s 74 leading the way.  She was followed by Lovelyn Guioguio (75), Jayvie Agojo (76) and Cyna Rodriguez (77). - AMD, GMA News
