Twitter this week joined search giant Google in the list of Internet entities injecting some fun into their language settings.
While Google has support for "Klingon" and "Bork-bork-bork", Twitter has quietly rolled out support for LOLCATS as a new language. You can see what it looks like here, or change it in the Settings menu.
LOLCATS is based on a popular Internet meme featuring humorous cat photos.
But for now, the LOLCATS language support is still in beta, and tech site The Next Web indicated it was not too impressed with the early work.
"It seems that most words have simply been capitalized, and some letters are dropped (FIN FRIENDS). The only really notable changes we saw were 'View Summary' has been changed to 'VIEW SUMMARY. KTHXBYE!' (we think it should be kthxbai) and 'More changes' has become MOAR (probably the best one)," The Next Web said.
It added the option "doesn’t really stay true to the meme," at least for now.
But it also noted the good news is that it’s still in beta, "so hopefully Twitter will improve it." — TJD, GMA News
