Carmelo Anthony scored 26 points as the New York Knicks cruised to their third straight win against the Boston Celtics, 90-76, Friday (Saturday, PHL time) at the TD Bank Garden in Boston. The Celtics opened up the scoring with a Jason Terry lay-up but never led again, with the visiting team relying on a 47-31 first half to put themselves one win away from sweeping the 2008 NBA champions in their best-of-seven Eastern Conference quarterfinals series. Raymond Felton and J.R. Smith combined chipped in 15 points each, the former dishing 10 assists. Jeff Green led Boston with 21 points, nine rebounds and two assists, while Paul Pierce had 17 points along with four boards and five assists. Combined, the two also committed 10 of the Celtics' 18 turnovers, however. Jason Terry added 14 points, nine of them from deep, while Kevin Garnet had 12 points with 17 rebounds. New York shot 50 percent from the field, including a 40 percent clip from three-point land. In contrast, Boston was held down to a 40 percent shooting clip with a 31.6 rate from beyond the arc. The Knicks also led in assists, dishing out a total of 22 to the Celtics' 14. With Garnett's 17 boards, Boston led in rebounding with 41 to New York's 22. - RAF, GMA News
