Reigning Sixth Man of the Year JR Smith is set to return to the New York Knicks along with his brother Chris, according to a report from the New York Post.

Smith has a player option worth $2.9 million, but he is expected not to pick it up in order to sign a long-term deal.

Chris Smith recently tweeted out that he would be back "next season along with my big brother….Will be a blessing to wear my Knicks uniform….Prep for 2014 is now."

Smith this season averaged 18.1 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.7 assists, but saw his numbers plummet in the postseason, after getting suspended in game four against the Boston Celtics in the first round. Versus the Indiana Pacers in the conference semifinals, he normed just 13.5 points on 28.89 percent shooting.

JR's younger brother Chris went undrafted in 2012, but was a training camp signing by the Knicks. He was waived in October after suffering a knee injury. The 6'2" guard however could be insurance for the team should Italian Pablo Prigioni not return next season.

Prigioni, in a separate New York Post report, is said to be contemplating a return to Europe to play ball there based on his wife's wishes.

The 35-year-old rookie put up 3.5 points, 1.8 rebounds and 3.0 assists for New York this season. - AMD, GMA News
