The University of the East Red Warriors will try to move up to .500, while the De La Salle University Green Archers attempt to move above that mark, when these two teams clash on Saturday at the MOA Arena.

UE (2-3) will shoot for their first win streak of the season, after dispatching Ateneo earlier this week. Roi Sumang scored a season-low 14 points, but Charles Mammie bounced back from a one-game suspension with aplomb, putting up 20 points and 23 rebounds to dominate the smaller Blue Eagle frontline.

However, DLSU's big men will pose a different challenge with the likes of Arnold Van Opstal, Jason Perkins and Norbert Torres guarding him. Given how UE's offense is very reliant on points in the paint (34.0 per game, second-most), they'll need the likes of Dan Alberto, Lord Casajeros and JM Noble to help them spread the floor and give Mammie room to operate.

La Salle (2-2) on the other hand is coming from a heartbreaking loss to the league-leading FEU Tamaraws, as their offense dried up in overtime, producing just four points to the Tams' eight. In fact, their problems stretched back to regulation, when they conceded a 12-0 blast to end the fourth, engineering the extra five minutes.

As has been the norm for DLSU these past few seasons, woeful free throw shooting did them in, as they were just 50 percent from the stripe the entire game, including 0-of-2 in the fourth and 2-of-6 in the overtime. If the Archers can build a big enough lead and maintain it this time, then it won't be an issue, however, if they get bogged down late, like in their FilOil encounter, it's not inconceivable UE goes to a hack-an-Archer ploy to emerge triumphant. All-in-all, DLSU is hitting just 56.8 percent as team from the foul line, second-worst in the UAAP.

Game starts at 2pm.
