Five teams from the Philippines are on their way to achieving the dancer's dream after making it into the semifinals of the 2013 World Hip Hop Dance Championship.
The lucky and extremely talented Filipino teams are 'The A Team,' 'Legit status,' 'Philippine All-Stars,' 'Unschooled,' and 'Add Lib Crew,' according to the Saturday newscast of "Balitanghali."
'The A Team' and 'Legit status' is competing in the varsity division while 'Philippine All-Stars,' 'Unschooled,' and 'Add Lib Crew' will see some action in the adult category.
Aside from these Filipino teams, three other dance crews — 'UP Street Dance,' Lasalle Dance Company' and 'Philippine All-Stars' made it into the first round of the mega crew division.
According to the report, this event is considered as the Olympics equivalent in hip hop dance culture.
The annual event is currently being held at Las Vegas, Nevada from August 6 to August 11, 2013 with over 2,500 dancers participating from 40 countries. - Andrei Medina, VVP, GMA News
