UAAP: 'I can't take that sitting down' says Ateneo coach Perasol about incident with hecklers
After an emotionally-charged ball game loss by the Ateneo de Manila University Blue Eagles at the hands of their arch-rivals, the De La Salle University Green Archers, a scuffle broke out near the entrance of the dug-out involving Ateneo head coach Bo Perasol and some fans of the Green Archers.
Not appreciating the heckling from some fans, Perasol approached them while he was being restrained by the rest of his coaching staff and some of his players.
“I just gave him [one of the heckling fans] a piece of my mind kasi he didn’t have to do that,” Perasol said after he stepped out of the dugout. “In the name of sportsmanship, di niya kailangang pumunta dito (pointing to the area near the entrance to the dugout).”

The Archers won 66-64 after a Jeron Teng game-winner, but the intensity carried over to the exit.
“For me kasi, we’ve handled it the way we should, we gave credit where credit is due. La Salle played well. I shook hands with their coaches and players after the game. I don’t think that his actions reflect what a true La Sallian is,” Perasol added. “But him going there and shouting insults at me and my team? I can’t take that sitting down. Mabuting na lang may bakal. Kung matapang siya, sana pumasok siya doon.”
The altercation lasted for a few tense seconds but the venue security personnel were able to prevent things from escalating.
Perasol had already been fired up as during the game, the Ateneo mentor charged the court at a referee over a perceived no-call, earning him a technical foul with 1:00 left in the game, which resulted in a pair of La Salle free throws. - AMD, GMA News
