V-League: Army shoots down PNP

The Philippine Army ran roughshod over the Philippine National Police, holding them to 15 points or less in all three sets, 25-14 25-15 25-15, Tuesday at the FilOil Flying V Arena in San Juan, in the Shakey's V-League Open Conference.
Army improved to 3-0, a win behind league-leaders Cagayan Valley (4-0). PNP stayed winless at 0-3.
PNP simply had no answer for Jovelyn Gonzaga, who punched in 21 big points, 15 off spikes, with another five coming from blocks. Mary Jean Balse supported her with 10 markers, four points via serves.
Sangmuang Patcharee was the lone player in double-figures for PNP with 12 points, nine coming from spikes. Janine Nicole Marciano added nine points, all from spikes. - GMA News
