Dagdag na pondo na ipinamigay sa mga senador, sisilipin ng COA dahil sa hiling ni Miriam

Sisilipin ng Commission on Audit ang karagdagang pondong ibinigay ng Department of Budget and Management (DBM) sa mga senador ilang buwan matapos ang impeachment trial ni dating Chief Justice Renato Corona.
 
Sa isang pahayag nitong Martes, ipinag-utos ni COA chairwoman Grace Pulido Tan ang pag-aaral sa Disbursement Acceleration Program (DAP) ng DBM na nagbigay umano ng P50 milyon hanggang P100 milyong karagdagang pondo sa mga senador na bumoto sa pagpapatalsik kay Corona.

"In response to the letter request of Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago, I am now looking into the releases under the DAP [Disbursement Acceleration Program] to legislators, and the projects for which their DAP allocations were spent," aniya.

"From the initial reports of our audit clusters, there are at least two agencies found to have received DAP allocations from legislators. The corresponding audit reports shall be released in due course," dagdag pa nito.

Nitong Lunes, lumiham si Senador Miriam Defensor-Santiago sa COA upang suriin ang DAP.

"I understand that the COA is now busy updating the special audit reports on the PDAF (Priority Development Assistance Fund). Nonetheless, I appeal for your early compliance with this request for information, because I believe there is now a compelling state interest in stabilizing the country, in the midst of multiple public outrage," ani Santiago.

Nauna nang ipinaliwanag ni Budget Secretary Florencio Abad noong Sabado na ibinigay lamang ang naturang pondo sa mga senador ilang buwan matapos ang paglilitis sa dating Chief Justice.

Giit nito, ang paglalabas ng karagdagang pondo sa mga senador ay naglalayong palaguin ang ekonomiya sa pamamagitan ng mas maraming proyekto mula sa gobyerno.

Dagdag pa niya, ang pag-ugnay sa paglalabas ng pondo at sa pagpapatalsik kay Corona ay “inaccurate at best and irresponsible at worst.”

Ginawa ni Abad ang pahayag tatlong araw matapos ilahad ni Senador Jinggoy Estrada sa kanyang privilege speech na tumanggap ng karagdagang P50 milyong pondo ang mga senador na bumoto para sa pagpapatalsik kay Corona sa pwesto. -- Rouchelle Dinglasan/FRJ, GMA News
