Pasay City Hall was turned into a virtual garrison anew as metal barricades blocked all entries to the compound before dawn Monday. Radio station dzBB reported Monday that acting mayor Alan Panaligan ordered the barricades set up and that riot police be placed on standby to prevent the "return" of vice mayor Antonino Calixto. It said the barricades had been "set aside" last week after Calixto tried but failed to occupy the mayor's office last week. Calixto, who had obtained a temporary restraining order against his suspension, claimed he should be acting mayor, and that Panaligan should slide down to being acting vice mayor. However, the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) said Panaligan has already been installed as permanent mayor as elected mayor Wenceslao Trinidad had already been dismissed. Despite his failure to occupy the office of the mayor last week, Calixto promised to return to occupy that office. - GMANews.TV
