Nine Pinoys in Bahrain bid for stardom thru GMA PinoyTV
Nine Filipino contestants in Bahrain will compete for the Pinoy Pop Superstar 2007 semi-finals on March 15 at Baan Saeng Thai Auditorium, Adliya. Pinoy Pop Superstar is one of the most popular singing contests held regularly in Philippines top TV station GMA7 and for the first time will include Filipino competitors from around the world. Winners from Bahrain will represent all the Filipinos in the United Arab Emirates and will have a chance to compete in the grand finals to be held in June with the top prize of 1 million pesos, house and lot, and a two-year recording contract. The contestants from Bahrain are Miguelito Gamba, Kelvin Mas, Julie Doronio, Sid, Vasquez, Jessica Bernal, Veronica Javier, Blessy Montana, Hazel Sercena, and Evelyn Hernandez. All contestants will sing one fast and one slow song in the semi-finals. Winners will be flown by Cathay Pacific and will undergo training in the Philippines from April 8 to 30, before competing on television. Competition will be aired worldwide through Orbit channel that brings GMA7. Albert Gayo will host the semi-finals and judges will comprise music instructors. Entrance is BD1.
