Carter-Williams made history with the selection, becoming just the second player to earn Player of the Week honors at the start of his rookie career. Retired center Shaquille O’Neal is the only other player to accomplish such a feat.
The 6’6” point guard was the 11th player taken in the 2013 NBA Draft. He has averaged 20.7 points, 4.7 rebounds, 9.0 assists and 4.3 steals, helping his 76ers squad begin the season with a 3-0 card, despite preseason projections that the team would challenge for the worst record in NBA history.
Kevin Love on the other hand has started strong, after playing just 18 games last season with Minnesota. The 6’10” power forward is putting up 29.7 points, 14.7 rebounds and 3.7 assists, as the Timberwolves are also unbeaten through three games.
Both those players’ teams are in action on Monday (Tuesday, PHL time) with Philadelphia taking on the Golden State Warriors, and the Minnesota Timberwolves tangling against the Cleveland Cavaliers. - AMD, GMA News
