YouScoop 2013: Conflict, charity, and the quest for change
From earthquakes, super typhoons to gun battles, 2013 could pass as the year Filipinos were pushed to their limits. Thousands perished during the series of calamities in the Visayas region, and hundreds of families were displaced after an attack by Muslim rebels in Zamboanga City. However, 2013 had a kinder, gentler side as Filipinos exhibited these softer qualities in the face of the tragedies. YouScoop featured acts of kindness—from kids to adults, within and outside the country—reminding us that there is hope and selflessness even after the worst of times. Alongside GMA News, YouScoopers were present at these events. They provided us the opportunity to experience, through their pictures, videos and personal narratives, what it was they themselves went through. In this 2013 YouScoop year-end special, we recall the most memorable scoops received by GMA News. — DVM, GMA News
