Star Wars Episode VII official cast gets down to business

Feelings for the next installment of LucasFilm’s epic Star Wars franchise have been strong and powerful among fans since Disney bought the company and announced a new trilogy for the series., and now the powers that be have officially unleashed The Force for those excited with anticipation by officially announcing the principal cast and members who will be starring in Episode VII!
 
By way of the official Star Wars website, director J.J. Abrams and the Star Wars team have found their leads and players that will be partaking in the next chapter of the saga legendary filmmaker George Lucas started way back in 1977. After rumors and reports of the cast from the original Star Wars trilogy were in talks to return, the announcement has now made it official that Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker would be returning to their signature roles as older versions of Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Princess Leia Organa, C-3PO, Chewbacca, and R2-D2 respectively!
 
However the return of the old guard was just the tip of the iceberg, as fans finally know for the first time the brand new cast that will partake in this new saga, set 30 years after the events of Episode VI: Return of the Jedi and beginning a new timeline that’s outside of the Expanded Universe! Outstanding talents such as The Lord of the Rings Trilogy’s own Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson of Harry Potter fame, and Swedish acting legend Max Von Sydow round up the highlights of the dynamic casting choices, along with other faces like John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, and Oscar Isaac. While no specific mention of the plot or their roles were announced in the press release, these pool of acting talents definitely add promise and excitement to the next chapter in the saga that takes place “A Long, Long Time Ago In A Galaxy Far, Far Away…”

Actors John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, and Max von Sydow will join the original stars of the saga, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker in the new film. 

Director J.J. Abrams says, "We are so excited to finally share the cast of Star Wars: Episode VII. It is both thrilling and surreal to watch the beloved original cast and these brilliant new performers come together to bring this world to life, once again. We start shooting in a couple of weeks, and everyone is doing their best to make the fans proud." 

Star Wars: Episode VII is being directed by J.J. Abrams from a screenplay by Lawrence Kasdan and Abrams. Kathleen Kennedy, J.J. Abrams, and Bryan Burk are producing, and John Williams returns as the composer. The movie opens worldwide on December 18, 2015."
